The editorial method
Stand Ready is built for the moment a member hears a serious claim and wants to know what the critic means, what the source says, and how the Latter-day Saint case fits together.
The standard
A weak version of an objection may be easy to dismiss, but it does not help anyone. Each completed response starts with a steelman, gives a short answer that can survive a live conversation, and keeps the full discussion on the same page.
Scripture, historical reconstruction, official Church teaching, personal interpretation, and channel commentary are not the same kind of source.
Many objections depend on sola scriptura, biblical inerrancy, creedal definitions, or a theory of prophetic perfection. The response names that premise.
A test used against the Restoration should also be applied to biblical prophets, canon history, and the critic's own tradition.
The aim is clarity and faithful witness. A sharp question can test an argument without treating the person who raised it as an enemy.
Source standard
Strong historical claims should lead to a scripture, document, firsthand account, or responsible scholarly treatment. When the record is incomplete or disputed, the article should say so plainly instead of turning an inference into a fact.
Scope
The site presents a Latter-day Saint apologetic perspective. Official doctrine should be confirmed through the Church's own scriptures and publications.
The claim map records 89 recurring arguments. The response index only promotes entries that have both inline study material and a usable answer.

A quick answer can steady a conversation. It cannot replace patient study. Start with scripture, follow claims back to primary records, and then read good arguments from more than one side.
Inclusion here is not a blanket endorsement. Authors disagree with one another, and sometimes with the conclusions on this site. That is part of the point.
